The Michigan Republican Party under the leadership of Ronna Romney McDaniel has done what seemed the impossible by turning Michigan ‘red’ – from 1972 through 1988 the state voted exclusively Republican, before becoming part of the ‘blue wall’ that voted Democratic in six consecutive presidential elections from 1992 through 2012.

Donald Trump is vowing to put “America First.” He delivered that pledge after being sworn in today as the nation’s 45th President at the U.S. Capitol.

Former Escanaba Mayor Judi Schwalbach was one of two Upper Peninsula delegates at the Republican National Convention last summer.

She described the atmosphere in Washington in an interview this afternoon with the Radio Results Network.

“Well, you’re sitting there, and the senators are walking in, and you can’t put words to it,” Schwalbach told RRN News. “You just can’t. And I’m standing here right now and I’ve got tall buildings all around me, and people are just celebrating. Some are protesting, and it’s just what America does every four years that makes us all so proud.” Read More...

jason-allenFormer Sen. Jason ALLEN confirmed today he would be running for the 1st District congressional chair post within the Michigan Republican Party (MRP) at the request of incoming U.S. Rep. Jack BERGMAN.

Bergman defeated Allen in the three-way Republican primary last August. In the weeks that followed the race, however, Allen volunteered to assist Bergman at various events during the General Election, including the rally for then-Vice Presidential candidate Mike PENCE in Traverse City.

“I’ve enjoyed his openness and his team approach to our region,” Allen said of Bergman, who was formally sworn in today as a member of the 115th session of Congress.

Allen was a deputy director within the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs up until last year’s congressional run. Most recently, he’s been running the family’s men’s clothing store, Captain’s Quarters, in Traverse City. Read More...

electoral_college_father_and_daughter_60314-jpg-0fbccDETROIT — Growing up black and Republican outside the heavily Democratic city of Flint, Michigan, Kelly Mitchell learned from her parents the importance of sticking to her beliefs and working hard to achieve goals.

On Monday, she’ll mark a personal and professional milestone: Casting her vote as a member of Michigan’s Electoral College along with her father and fellow elector, Henry Hatter.

“I really wanted this for me and my dad,” said Mitchell, a sales account manager from Grand Rapids, state party official and member of President-elect Donald Trump’s energy-focused transition team. “My dad is probably my biggest cheerleader. I was raised … by two loving parents and have been an activist in Michigan politics for over 30 years.” Read More...

Jill Stein may have been a failed presidential candidate by capturing only 1% of vote, however – Stein’s recount fundraising efforts would leave the uninformed to believe she still has a chance to win the Oval Office.  Jill Stein has announced that she is seeking a recount in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan due to “reported anomalies” – however, no such evidence actually exists so far.

President-elect Donald Trump won swing states Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan which was certified Monday, Nov 28th. Read More...
