Foxconn Technology Group, which helped turn China into the center of electronics manufacturing, said it would build a $10 billion plant in Wisconsin to make display panels used in televisions and other products.
“The plan, announced Wednesday at a White House ceremony, marks the first major U.S. investment for Foxconn, the world’s largest contract manufacturer of electronics and the maker of iPhones and other gadgets for Apple Inc. […]
“The announcement confirms plans reported Monday by The Wall Street Journal. Foxconn was exploring investments in seven states including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas.
“Some of those states, including Wisconsin, were pivotal to Mr. Trump’s victory in 2016, and are home to many of the working-class voters who were seen as key to his win.”

The Delta County Republican Party (DCRP) went on the record recently showing unanimous support for job growth in this state and nationally, and furthermore urged the Democrats to get on board with the Rexton Project and other job producing projects.  Last summer at the Governor’s Luncheon held at the U.P. State Fair, Governor Snyder stated he encourages development of more mining, manufacturing, and knowledge (creating ideas) industries in the region. “World class products are made in the U.P. You need to be louder and prouder about what you’re doing. We are globally competitive right here in the Upper Peninsula,” he said. “You’re on the forefront. Two polls released in the last day by Harper Polling and Mitchell Research and Communications show Michigan’s U.S. Senate race between former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land and Congressman Gary Peters tied. Yesterday’s Mitchell poll shows a statistical tie with Terri gaining ground compared to previous polling results and the Harper poll also showed a “virtual tie”. Additionally, the Michigan Secretary of State reported that Land earned more than 80,000 more votes on her ballot than Peters. Read More...
