As the corruption trial of New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez got underway in Newark on Wednesday, the Republican National Committee launched a digital ad campaign pressuring his fellow Democrats to call for his resignation if he’s convicted.
Menendez was indicted in 2015 for being bribed with private jets and exclusive trips, but it looks like Stabenow’s cozy relationship with Menendez comes with some perks of its own. Even as recently as six months ago, Senator Menedez’s New Millennium PAC contributed $10K to Stabenow’s reelection campaign.
Donald Trump is vowing to put “America First.” He delivered that pledge after being sworn in today as the nation’s 45th President at the U.S. Capitol.
Former Escanaba Mayor Judi Schwalbach was one of two Upper Peninsula delegates at the Republican National Convention last summer.
She described the atmosphere in Washington in an interview this afternoon with the Radio Results Network.
“Well, you’re sitting there, and the senators are walking in, and you can’t put words to it,” Schwalbach told RRN News. “You just can’t. And I’m standing here right now and I’ve got tall buildings all around me, and people are just celebrating. Some are protesting, and it’s just what America does every four years that makes us all so proud.”
